Faucet Roulette

Life in olden times was a lot simpler. For example, if a homemaker wanted a can of peas they probably just went to the neighborhood store and just picked a can off of the shelves. Today, it is a much different story; there are a multitude of brands from which to choose. Selecting a simple water faucet, in the world of today, is also a much more complicated endeavor. Do you want this kind, or that version, and the list goes on and on. Of course, most people want the newest, greatest, and therefore most expensive one; that is after they have discovered it. Faucet roulette is a good name for this process.

First of all, there is the typical dual control unit. Almost everyone is familiar with this kind. Cold and hot water must be adjusted separately. Then along came the single lever version; much more convenient to use as a twist of one lever quickly tempers the water flow. Gooseneck, pull down or pull out faucets and sprays made washing dishes even easier. However, it did not stop there; the sensor controlled unit quickly evolved. And if that is not enough, some modern home improvement stores now have a variety of animal shaped faucets that are also available. Add to this list the pot filler faucet; the name explains itself. The newest configuration is the blown glass interpretation; expensive? Yes they are!

Nevertheless, the choices do not stop here. Once you have selected your favorite kind of faucet, there are other choices that you will have to decide upon. Do your prefer brass, nickel, chrome, nickel or stainless steel. How about the finish? Will it be smooth or brushed?

Therefore, as you can see, selecting a device to turn on the water in your kitchen or bathroom is no longer an easy thing to do.
